Welcome to the HealthyYum Community: Beautiful Pictures, Healthy Food, Deliciously Yummy!

HealthyYum Weekly Challenge. Last week we challenged you to submit your favorite APPLE recipe photos. We got some fantastic submissions, so it was so hard to choose a favorite, but it had to be done. That Apple Crumble Pie posted by princessmisia looked irresistible AND she used the sweetener "Tagatose" which is what I did my dissertation on, so she got brownie points for that. Tagatose is a reduced calorie sweetener (about 2 calories per gram) and it is au natural.
Congratulations - we'll be sending you a prize pack with some gorgeous designer Lunch Bags (ooh la la).

New Challenge
This week's theme is SOUP'S ON. There's nothing more comforting than a bowl of soup, so show us your favorite recipes.
This week's challenge is sponsored by Canterbury Naturals. We partnered with them to provide 7 HealthyYum.com users with Canterbury Natural's Hearty Bistro Lentil Soup Mix, which they will be incorporating into their own recipes! I'm excited to see what they come up with. Look out HY users, we're working hard to get you wholesome ingredients to use in your recipes!! Canterbury Naturals, a product line of Conifer Specialities, uses all natural or organic and local ingredients when possible. In addition to being delicious, and organic, Canterbury Naturals 2009 Collection of soups are free of Genetically Modified ingredients (GMOs), trans fats, hydrogenated oils, artificial additives, preservatives or colorings.
The winner of this week's challenge will receive a lovely gift basket from Conifer Specialities with various products from Canterbury Naturals (Submit your photos by 11:59 PM EST on Saturday October 31, 2009 for a chance to win).

A Pinch of This & A Dash of That said: I really enjoyed looking at the Caramel Apples posted by doggybloggy. They definitely bring back memories of being a little kid and making homemade caramel apples--what a mess I would make, but so worth it! The addition of coconut is a really savory twist. The other picture that really caught my eye was the Healthy Spiced Pumpkin Bread posted by DK. Not only can I never get enough of pumpkin flavored foods, I love the addition of the roasted pumpkin seeds to the top. They added visual appeal, and an extra dose of magnesium!
